Individual Therapy

Whether you are struggling with grief, anger, or other challenging emotions, depression, anxiety, struggling with confidence, or having difficulty managing stress or life changes, individual therapy can help you overcome these issues. We will collaboratively work to identify the barriers that are preventing you from your optimal well-being and work toward moving forward in a way that is authentic to you. You do not have to do this alone!

I have extensive experience working with individuals in the LGBTQIA2S+ community, as well as trauma survivors, first responders, women / women’s issues, and folks from various walks of life.

What would working together look like?

That is totally up to you! No two people are exactly the same, and even when we have shared experiences, it is our complex natures that make us the miraculous beings that we are!

I draw from years of experience, training, and working with folks in many settings and from various backgrounds to support you in creating a therapeutic approach that suits you. As a creative person, I enjoy working collaboratively to problem solve the changes that you would like to see in yourself and in your life, by identifying barriers to change, processing unresolved trauma, and envisioning a new, expansive reality!

Mindfulness and compassion are central to all of my work. We will practice staying present through everything we do - we might talk through your experiences, integrating cognitive reframing approaches and behavioral changes through goal setting.

Somatic practices compliment more traditional congitive talk therapy, and can enhance the changes you want to see in your life on a more experiential level.

Bringing in nature can also be an incredibly healing part of therapy. As an ecotherapist and social worker, I view our experience in this world as impacted by and impacting the systems that we participate in - that includes the ecosystem of our planet!

What can I expect to get out of individual therapy?

Each individual’s therapy journey is unique. During our initial sessions, we will discuss your wants and needs for therapy. Maybe you are wanting support in navigating significant stressors or life changes. Perhaps it is to improve your mood, worry less, achieve more calm. You may be someone who has done a lot of therapy and are tired of talking about the past, and are looking for a different approach. Or, you may be trying this therapy thing out for the first time ever.

Whatever brings you in, we will work together to help you achieve your mental health goals, whether that is feeling less anxious or depressed, healing old wounds and traumas, or navigating life changes and stressors. Ultimately, my hope for you is that you achieve a deeper sense of knowing, belonging, balance, and discovering the things that you love about yourself. My hunch is that those things are already inside of you, and we can work together to uncover them and bring them to the light.
